Since 1907, the Kirkwood High Pioneers and the Webster Groves Statesmen have met at high noon on Thanksgiving Day to battle each other in a fierce and competative football game. The prize? The glory of holding the Frisco Bell at the winning team's school for a whole year. The game is just one of the exciting events and traditions that are held throughout the week. The students and faculty of KHS spend the final two days before Thanksgiving Break getting hyped up for thursday's game. Monday is always Tacky Day, where everyone gets decked out in Webster colors; Orange, Black, and White. Then on tuesday, you get the chance to wear everything red and white, color your hair red, paint big 'K's on your face, and go crazy with school spirit, without innocent passerby's thinking that you need to be put in the insane assylum. The end of the day marks the beginning of Thanksgiving Break. The next big event occurs wednesday; the Chili Cook-off at 5 pm and the Bonfire at 7 pm. At the end of the night, everyone goes home for a good nights sleep. But come morning, everyone prepares for the main event; game day has FINALLY arrived!!! The crowd is huge, the fans are full of pep, and the Pioneers are ready to defeat the Statesmen once again and retain the much desired Frisco Bell! So what are you waiting for? PUT ON YOUR RED AND WHITE!
